This Sargent 1431 is an aluminum door closer that can be adjusted to fit the application. This series is suitable for applications with narrow top rails. The 1431 includes separate intensity valves for latch-speed, closing-speed and backcheck. Package includes a high-impact, non-corrosive, plastic cover as the standard.

1. Universal - a standard arm which includes brackets for installation in standard, top jamb and parallel applications

2. Hold open - a door closer arm with the capability of holding the door in the open position until it is manually closed. Hold-open arm door closers are not permitted for use on fire door assemblies.

3. Parallel - a door closer arm that mounts on the push side of the door and the arm assembly extends almost parallel to the door. In the closed position, there is very little, or no hardware projecting beyond the frame face in most situations. This may be beneficial in vandalism prone areas. Due to the geometry of the arm it may be about 25% less power-efficient than a regular arm application.
