The outside of a single communicating door is the side from which the hinges are not visible when the door is closed.

Doors equipped with exit devices swing out only, and therefore exit device handing is known as reverse bevel.

The door is Left Hand Reversed if:

• While you are standing outside of the room facing the door, the hinges are on your left side.

The door is Right Hand Reversed if:

• While you are standing outside of the room facing the door, the hinges are on your right side.

The EL feature allows for the remote unlatching of exit devices. A control station operator can flip a switch to retract the latch bolt and immediately change an exit door to push-pull operation.
EL devices are also useful with automatic door operators, and may be applied to fire-rated applications when under the control of an automatic fire alarm system.
The EL option does not include the power transfer from door to frame, the power supply, or the control operator. Refer to EPT-2 power transfer and the PS914-2RS power supply.

The ALK kit contains an internal horn. When the touch bar is depressed, the horn sounds to provide an audible
means of signaling that the opening has been violated.
Requires a 1-1/4" mortise cylinder to arm/disarm, not included.
The unit operates on one standard 9-volt alkaline battery
When the ALK is used, standard dogging is removed.
