The ASI 0751 is the heavy duty option in ASI's robe hook lineup, built for installations where load capacity and a clean finished appearance both need to be taken seriously. It is fabricated from solid brass, a denser, heavier material than the Zamak used in ASI's standard chrome accessory line and finished with a satin chrome plating that gives it a refined, low-sheen look that works in upscale hotel rooms, healthcare facilities, executive restrooms, and any space where the fixtures are expected to perform and look the part over many years.
The hook is rated to support over 300 lbs when properly installed into a building element capable of bearing that load. That capacity puts it in a completely different category from standard commercial robe hooks, and it is the right specification for locations where heavy robes, multiple garments, loaded duffel bags, or medical equipment bags are likely to be hung regularly.
Mounting is fully concealed, which is the 0751's defining visual feature. A wall bracket is installed first using #10 self-threading pan head screws supplied by others, and the installer is responsible for ensuring the mounting configuration complies with local building codes and can sustain 181 lbs (82 kg) of downward force at minimum. The hook body then fits over the bracket and is locked in place with three 1/4-28 cone point stainless steel hex socket set screws tightened evenly around the perimeter of the 2-3/4 inch diameter flange using a 1/8 inch hex wrench. Once those three set screws are tightened, the hook is secure and the only thing visible from the front is the finished chrome brass flange and hook arm with no screw heads, no slots, no visible fasteners of any kind.
The hook arm projects 3-1/4 inches from the wall, which is enough clearance for thick bath robes, layered jackets, or bags with bulky handles without them pressing against the wall.
For
ADA compliance under the 2010
ADA Accessibility Standards, the centerline of the hook should be installed at 48 inches maximum above finished floor.
