Help Me Decide

The handing of a door is always determined from the push side.

If the door swings away from you to the left, it is a Left Hand door

If the door swings away from you to the right, it is a Right Hand door

More Info

Offset floor closers as opposed to center-hung floor closers can carry greater loads, must be used on taller doors and require  the use of intermediate pivots. For fire-rated doors, an offset closer should be used. On the other hand, center-hung closers are better for the aesthetics of the door being that their hardware is completely concealed. They may not be used on fire-rated doors.
