Face the outside of the door to determine the hand. Here are some rules to follow:

  • The outside of an exterior door is the street or entrance side.
  • The outside of a room door is the hall side.
  • The outside of a single communicating door is the side from which the hinges are not visible when the door is closed.
  • The outside of a closet door is the room or hall side.

When you are standing outside of the room facing the door and the hinges are on your left side:

  • If the door swings away from you it is Left Handed
  • If the door swings towards you it is Left Hand Reversed

When you are standing outside of the room facing the door and the hinges are on your right side:

  • If the door swings away from you, it is Right Handed
  • If the door swings towards you, it is Right Hand Reversed

  • Classroom function,key outside retracts latchbolt, also locks and unlocks outside Paddle.
  • Less 1-1/8" mortise cylinder, cylinder required for operation.
  • Paddle inside always retracts latchbolt.
  • Paddle can be mounted in horizontal (up or down) and vertical(sideways) orientations in the field.
  • Down or horizontal paddle orientation is required for cylinder side of door.
  • Paddle is non-handed; lockbody is easily field reversible.
  • Door thickness 1-3/4".
  • Backset 2-3/4".
  • Outside front plate-8"x 1-1/4".
